At the end of May 2020, rented apartments fell in price both in Moscow and in Russia as a whole. Decrease in rates in all major cities in the segment of one-room lots was 1.2 percent, in the segment of "two-bedroom" - 1.4 percent, "three-ruble" - 1.7 percent. This is stated in the materials of the portal "World of Apartments" received by the editorial office of "Lenta.ru".

During the second month of self-isolation, "odnushki" became more accessible in 47 of the 70 largest Russian cities, "kopeck pieces" - in 51, "three rubles" - in 58, analysts calculated. The most noticeable drop in the cost of rental housing was noted in Tolyatti, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Ulan-Ude and Kemerovo.

In Moscow, three-room apartments fell the most (minus 2 percent, up to 54 thousand rubles / month per lot on average), two-room apartments (minus 1.9 percent, 47 thousand / month), a little less, rates for one-room apartments fell by one and a half percent ( 38.4 thousand rubles / month).

The coronavirus has hit the rental housing market. Living in rented apartments will become even cheaper for Russians
“There is no demand, prices have collapsed,“ the plaster is being removed, the client is leaving ”- this is the mood that landlords have been in for two months in a row,” experts say.
“The tenants are bargaining mercilessly. And although many apartment owners themselves are in limbo, they willy-nilly have to enter the position of those who have been quarantined without money, without work, or even in a hospital. Many make concessions, and those who do not agree to reduce the rate run the risk of being left with an empty apartment. "

Experts do not exclude that "the rental market will win back" when all restrictions associated with the spread of coronavirus will be finally lifted. “Those who have left the big cities will return and start looking for housing. Maybe already in June prices will gradually creep up, ”they suggest.

Earlier in June, Moscow realtors denied data on the collapse of rental rates for apartments in the city. According to them, during the period of the self-isolation regime in the capital, the owners agree to discounts of no more than 10 percent.
